Sampling Theorems for Non Bandlimited Signals: Theoretical Impact and Practical Applications
نویسنده
چکیده
In recent years many of the results for band limited sampling have been extended to the case of non bandlimited signals. These recent extensions have been found to be useful in digital signal processing applications such as image interpolation, equalization of communication channels, and in multiresolution computation. In this lecture we give a brief overview of some of these ideas.

Sampling theorems in function spaces for frames associated with linear canonical transform
The linear canonical transform (LCT) has proven to be a powerful tool in optics and signal processing. Most existing sampling theories of this transform were derived from the LCT band-limited signal viewpoint. However, in the real world, many analog signals encountered in practical engineering applications are non-bandlimited. The purpose of this paper is to derive sampling theorems of the LCT ...
متن کاملOn sampling theorems for non bandlimited signals
It is well-known that certain non bandlimited signals such as splines can be reconstructed from uniformly spaced samples similar to bandlimited signals. This usually requires noncausal IIR filters. We revisit this result and consider extensions such as derivative sampling theorems and pulse sampling theorems. It turns out that spline-like signals can often be reconstructed from joint sampling o...
متن کاملRelationship between sampling and multirate filterbanks in the linear canonical transform domain
Multirate filterbanks have found applications in speech processing, image processing, communications, and in the development of new sampling theorems. This paper explores the relationship between sampling theorems and multirate filterbanks in the linear canonical transform (LCT) domain. The sampling identity and the interpolation identity for bandlimited signals in the LCT domain are discussed ...
متن کاملNew sampling formulae for non-bandlimited signals associated with linear canonical transform and nonlinear Fourier atoms
The sampling theory is basic and crucial in engineering sciences. On the other hand, the linear canonical transform (LCT) is also of great power in optics, filter design, radar system analysis and pattern recognition, etc. The Fourier transform (FT), the fractional Fourier transform (FRFT), Fresnel transform (FRT) and scaling operations are considered as special cases of the LCT. In this paper,...
متن کاملShannon's Sampling Theorem for Bandlimited Signals and Their Hilbert Transform, Boas-Type Formulae for Higher Order Derivatives - The Aliasing Error Involved by Their Extensions from Bandlimited to Non-Bandlimited Signals
The paper is concerned with Shannon sampling reconstruction formulae of derivatives of bandlimited signals as well as of derivatives of their Hilbert transform, and their application to Boas-type formulae for higher order derivatives. The essential aim is to extend these results to non-bandlimited signals. Basic is the fact that by these extensions aliasing error terms must now be added to the ...
